Dr. Pyungwoo Jang is a Professor at the department of Optical Engineering at the Cheongju University. He received the B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees respectively, from theSeoul National University, Seoul, S. Korea, in 1981, 1983 and 1991, all in materials engineering. He also worked at MINT of the University of Alabama, USA as a visiting scholar from 1995 to 1996. He also worked at Yamaguchi University, Japan as a visiting scholar in 2002.
From 1983 to 1992, he worked at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, S. Korea where he worked on thin film materials, magnetism and magnetic materials, and device technologies of magnetic recording. His current research interest is in thin film growth, soft magnetic materials, and characterizationof photovoltaic devices.
He has published more than 80 technical papers in prestigious journals and conferences. He is a board member of the Korea Magnetic Society and the Korea Institute of Metals and Materials.
